Starting life on the London's electronic scene AWAX was formed in 2002 ( formerly known as A.W.A.C.S) with the First ever live appearance at The Octopus Studios ( OCTOPAD ) in Central-London. Once a 3 piece AWAX is now fronted and run by originator, programmer and co-founder of the URBCOM label D.ESCOTT. Working with floating and guest members for live drums/percussion ( ROSS DIAMOND ) and other vocalists.As with most exciting new music these days , the buzz over AWAX has come about as a result of word of mouth in the electronic,industrial scene, rather than the exposure in the national media which has to be a resounding recommendation in itself. Inexplicably dark and cultish with massive crossover appeal AWAX has come to be known to a wider audience in the last couple of years , initially through his collaboration work with long-time friend and Co-label artist J.HOOKENS ( THE DIELECTRIC / JERICO ONE )

More recently AWAX has been setting the electro-industrial underground alight with his breakcore-ambient club-hit 'Statica' and his appearance's on various URBCOM compilation releases.. Sound wise AWAX explores the line between electro/hip hop/drum and bass grooves and leftfield atmospheric splatterbeats culminating in gritty broken slabs of sound & overlaid by flowing landscapes of multi-layered sonic textures. ' Intransigent' provides a mish-mash of the all of this then adds suspense with sky ripping showers of sound whilst expanding on all the imagery and filmic qualities displayed in passed work with Industrial/Experimental outfit URBANITE. Current include new exclusive material written in 2010 for the frothcoming URBCOM download-only compilation " HI-TECHWARS V/A 2" out in May 2010 but his main focus this year is his new band ELECTRO FUNK ROCKERS.
